
The Bensley-Rounds American Legion Post
280 of Iroquois recently attended a Flag retirement Ceremony held by
the Kingsbury County American Legion Council. Other Posts in
attendance were Arlington, De Smet, Lake Preston, Erwin and the
hosting Post, Oldham. Distinguished guests included the District 2
American Legion Commander Charemon Dunham, District 2 Americanism
Chairman Colin Royal (Kingsbury County Commander), Department
Administrative Committeewoman Annette Dunham, Sons of The American
Legion Detachment Sergeant-at-Arms AJ Royal, all of Iroquois,
members of the Oldham community, American Legion Auxiliary and
Junior Auxiliary, and members of the Oldham community. Pictured are
American Legion members from Oldham, Iroquois, Arlington, Lake
Preston. A special thank you goes to the Iroquois School and the
fifth grade class for their efforts in collecting flags for
retirement. Another ceremony will be conducted in the Spring by the
Sons of The American Legion Squadron 280 of Iroquois, date and time

The Bensley-Rounds Sons of The
American Legion Squadron 280 of Iroquois provided the Color
Guard for the quarterly memorial service at the Royal C. Johnson
VA Medical Center in Sioux Falls on August 18, 2007. This
memorial service is held four times a year to honor the
approximately 300 veterans who pass away each quarter in this VA
service area. Honoring the fallen are left to right, Brent
Matter, Leo Dunham, Colin Royal, and AJ Royal. 08/18/07
